3TEN HAUSTUDIO is a working art studio as well as an exhibition
space. Diane Hause hosts art studio openings and holds private showings
by appointment. Located in Castleberry Hill. 75 Mixed Medium The APEX Museum (African American Panoramic
Experience) has been Atlanta’s premier institution dedicated to
presenting and preserving the culture, history and traditions of people
of African descent. The mission of The APEX is to present the complete
and accurate picture of the history of African Americans and the contributions
they have made to American as well as world history. Arts for All Gallery at VSA arts of Georgia
exhibits artists of merit who may be disabled, disadvantaged or institutionalized,
as well as presenting exhibitions relevant to these communities. The
gallery's philosophy is "All Arts - All Ages - All Abilities." The Atlanta Contemporary Art Center is a
multidisciplinary arts center that contributes to the arts scene of Atlanta
by making the work of local, regional, national, and international artists
available to the Greater Atlanta community. The Atlanta Public Arts Legacy Fund is responsible for conservation and maintenance of most of the public art in Downtown Atlanta that is an enduring legacy of the 1996 Centennial Olympics. Bandwuss Gallery is an art gallery in Atlanta’s burgeoning artistic district, Castleberry Hill. Besharat Gallery features paintings, sculptures, photography, religious icons, and pictorial carpets. Bighouse Studio houses the photography of Calvin Lockwood, a Florida-born artist who now resides in Castleberry Hill. The Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center, with the largest stage in the Southeast, has played host to some of the world's most highly anticipated Broadway productions, concerts, stage plays, operas and other events and meetings. Canvas is an art bar and lounge in Downtown’s artiest neighborhood, Castleberry Hill. A tattoo parlor, City of Ink also provides space for local artists to display their work. Emergence Gallery is a space where walls and floors are canvases that embrace the colors and designs of seven countries. An Australian didgeridoo and a Haitian mask hold court; mudcloth from Mali covers a teakwood motorcycle from Thailand, and three floors of fine and functional art merge beautifully to awaken all senses to the spirit of one world. Eyedrum Art and Music Gallery is a
non-profit organization developing an interdisciplinary approach to the
arts by incorporating a wide range of contemporary art, music and new
media in its gallery space. Adjacent to the restaurant, No Mas Cantina, Escape Gallery is a furnishings showroom of handmade imported furniture, accessories, architectural elements, and jewelry from Mexico. The Castleberry Hill art gallery Fahamu Pecou shows a painting, video and performance series that parallels the marketing campaign and identity design strategy of hip-hop artists, as well as the conceptual framework of mass media and consumer products conceived in pop art. Gallery Stokes offers local and regional emerging and mid-career artists the opportunity to have a solo exhibition, introducing their work to local patrons and other Atlanta galleries. Garage Projects advance public interest in the visual arts by offering emerging or under recognized, mid-career artists, artist groups or curators an exhibition venue to introduce contemporary art from various disciplines. Georgia State Univeristy The Georgia State School of Music enrolls 450 students
representing 6 countries and 21 states. Approximately 360 of the students
are in bachelor's degree programs, 70 in master's degrees, and the remainder
in other programs, including a Ph.D. in music education The
GSU School of Music complex includes five venues: The Standard
Building, the Haas-Howell Building, the Aderhold Learning Center, the
Rialto Center for the Performing Arts, and Recital Hall. Located in Castleberry Hill, Get This! Gallery specializes in contemporary art. The Granite Room provides a historic backdrop for receptions and a short-term art venue. Imagine It! The Children's Museum of Atlanta is a 30,000-square-feet
museum filled with interactive and kid-friendly educational exhibits.
Geared specifically toward Atlanta's youngest learners, the eight and
under crowd, children learn about the world through play and imagination.
Imagine It! The Children's Museum of Atlanta is located at 275 Centennial
Olympic Park Drive directly across the street from the Georgia Aquarium
and Centennial Olympic Park. 404-659-KIDS (5437) Krause Gallery, located in Castleberry
Hill, cultivates an atmosphere of conversation by showing progressive
artists and offering value-based pricing. The gallery represents artists
from all over the world. Kristofer Laméy is a sculptural lighting artist and designer. Lynne Farris Gallery features contemporary
work by local and regional artists in a delightfully appointed environment.
Open by appointment. Call for information on current exhibits. Marcia Wood Gallery, located in Castleberry Hill, presents both established
and emerging fine art painters and sculptors from the United States,
Canada and Europe. Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic
Site Moriarty Art Gallery is located in Castleberry Hill. The Museum of Design Atlanta, an affiliate
of the Smithsonian focuses on Design, Culture, and Technology. The Museum
joins a prestigious national program through which it will partner with
the Smithsonian on an ongoing basis to bring unique collections to Atlanta. A Mexican restaurant in Castleberry Hill, No Mas! Hacienda & Cantina also contains gallery space for the display of primarily Mexican art. New Shakespeare Tavern Studio Clout exposes the work of local, national and international artists to collectors interested in uniquely tailored contemporary fine art that will enrich their lives. Paige Harvey Art Studio is located
in the historic Art Building. On the third floor you will find Paige
Harvey and her large oils on canvas.
The Rialto Center for the Arts
at Georgia State University is a multipurpose arts venue. It is known
primarily for its Signature Series performances, featuring national and
international music and dance, but it also maintains a two-level gallery
space in its lobby.
Stable 1897 was conceived in 1997
as a building for artists in need of working and/or living studios. The
Artists Studio Program occupies 8,000 square feet on the second floor,
upstairs from the exhibition spaces. In late 2003, Stable 1897 launched
Garage Projects in response to the crisis in availability of dynamic
and affordable exhibition spaces in Atlanta. Located in Castleberry Hill. Sue’s Studio & Gallery is a commercial
gallery located inside the Mall at Peachtree Center. Sue’s gallery
features contemporary paintings in addition to commissioned pieces. Theatrical Outfit moved into its own home at 84 Luckie Street, The Balzer Theater at Herren’s. Named for the lead donors, Bill and Peg Balzer and the historic building that it occupies, Theatrical Outfit’s new home is an intimate, state-of-the art 200 seat theater, designed for, owned and managed by the company. The Threshing Floor Academy of Arts & Sciences engages in art and literacy activities, including art in school programs and children's galleries. Seeking to put Atlanta on the national and international map, Wertz | Contemporary showcases distinctive contemporary fine art. Youth Art Connection Gallery, a program
of Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta, utilizes the arts to address
issues related to youth and youth culture. YAC endeavors to assist
youth in understanding themselves and their world while exploring individual
