CAP/ADID Initiatives
Downtown and Midtown Wayfinding Signage Project

Wayfinding SignNewsflash!
August 4, 2006 Update:

Earlier today the very first elements of the Downtown and Midtown Wayfinding System signs were installed.  Three vehicular directional signs along Peachtree Street near Woodruff Park and Peachtree Center and one along International Boulevard near Centennial Olympic Park were put in the place.  These signs are a work in progress and just the beginning of a projected three-month long installation process of 252 vehicular, pedestrian and map kiosk signs.

Stay tuned for more updates, continued progress and hopefully lots of positive feedback.

Background
Despite an investment in directional signage and kiosks made prior to the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games, the current signage in Downtown and Midtown is insufficient. The overall system is inconsistent and confusing as a result of numerous independent governmental and private initiatives to fill the void of missing signs. >> more
